At this year’s Geotab Connect conference, Entergy received its first-ever Geotab award in the category of Innovation in Vehicle Telematics. Entergy is a Fortune 500 company that generates and delivers electricity for 3 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Since 2013, Entergy has been an Assured Telematics customer, focused on optimizing telematics technology to improve the efficiency and safety of its fleet. Entergy initially implemented telematics for the purposes of reducing its truck fuel consumption by looking to gain more miles to the gallon. With powerful, new data insights - Entergy then began to adopt various safety features, such as speed monitoring, to help improve driver behavior. Third-party solutions for advanced collision prevention were also deployed to alert drivers of the risk of a collision by monitoring the road ahead and analyzing the risks of forward collisions, unintended lane departure, tailgating, and other potential hazards.
